Paula Chandler MA BA(Hons)

With 27 years in the Construction and Engineering industry across multiple sectors ranging from nuclear and aviation to education and healthcare, Paula takes great pride in her role as Design Director for the Wates Construction business. Member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for setting strategic objectives and supporting the wider Design Management function across Preconstruction and Production phases, Paula is committed to promoting best practice, embedding sustainable solutions, enhancing buildability, value creation and fostering innovation.

Heading up a team of highly skilled and experienced Design Management professionals in both work winning and project delivery phases and working closely with key Customers, Consultants and specialist Sub-Contractors, Paula’s focus is on ensuring high standards of quality, integrity and professionalism are consistently achieved.

Member of several industry forums including the Passive Fire Knowledge Group (PFKG) and BIM4Housing (Design & Advisory committees) and sits on the Wates SLT, D&I Steering Group and Wates Women and Allies network. Advocate of equality, diversity and inclusion, supporter of social value initiatives and active Construction/STEM Ambassador.
