Matt heads up innovation at The Crown Estate, a company acting in the national interest across its diverse portfolio of land, urban centres and the seabed. 

As part of his role, his current areas of interest include decarbonisation of heritage buildings, renewable energy technologies, sustainable construction, urbanisation, nature recovery and urban nature, social equality and supporting UK cleantech innovation. Prior to joining The Crown Estate, Matt spent 15 years leading on strategy and innovation in the Banking and FinTech industries, from working on corporate innovation and new ventures to founding an SME lending start-up.

Matt is also a Strategic Board Member at the Digital Twin Hub, a multi-sector Industry and Catapult Network partnership housed at the Connected Places Catapult, which is focussed on the role that digital twins can play in the future of our built and natural environments.
