Mathieu has dedicated his career to making places where everyone can thrive. With over 15 years of strategic planning, complex economic development and high-profile area regeneration experience, Mathieu has led investment of more than £6 million into community-focused projects. This included more than £3 million of external funding won as a direct result of his bid writing and development. 

Mathieu prides himself on developing creative solutions which effectively combine transport infrastructure, employment opportunities, education, housing and affordable workspace to maximise social value and create inclusive economies. An expert procurement professional, Mathieu has extensive tender evaluation experience.

Mathieu’s experience, spanning public sector and consultancy, combines with a strong education gained through a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning and APM project management qualification, and through his professional memberships where he is a Chartered Planner and Chartered Manager.

Key Achievements 

• Winning designation for Hackney Wick and Fish Island as one of the first-ever Creative Enterprise Zones helping to enhance the economic development of creative communities
• Implemented the first-ever Business Improvement District Company in West Ealing
• Delivery of £1.1m investment into Hanwell town centre, which achieved a 50% reduction in vacancy rates and the establishment of the largest free one day music festival in London
• Developed shopfront design guidance and led a multi-million-pound shopfront improvements programme across Ealing 
• Implemented Hackney Council’s first social value lease to deliver affordable workspace and community benefits in underutilised buildings
• Delivered Eastway, a co-designed youth sports facility using mostly external funding, winning the Wellbeing prize at the New London Architecture Awards 2022 
• Secured outline planning permission with the London Legacy Development Corporation for the Hackney Wick Central Masterplan
