Gordon Roy
Gordon has held the post of District Surveyor for the City of London since 2018. His role includes overseeing the Building Control, civil engineering and the environmental resilience teams for the City. The Building Control team oversee the Building Regulations through the design and construction of the prestigious, predominantly commercial, developments that are being constructed within the UK’s leading commercial district.
He is both a Chartered Surveyor and a Chartered Building Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in Local Authority building control. Prior to joining the City of London in 2016, Gordon led multi-disciplinary teams of surveyors, engineers and specialist officers to ensure compliance of the Building Regulations and sports grounds legislation for the London 2012 Olympic Park sports venues, including the Olympic Stadium, velodrome and associated ceremonies. He has specialist knowledge of large sports venues and temporary structures.

British Standards Committee member for BS 9991- Fire Safety in the design, management and use of Residential Buildings.
Member of NLA committee on Tall Buildings.
