David leads Make's Education and Research sector, bringing 25 years of experience working with diverse higher education institutions. His work, which emphasises the importance of user-focused design to enhance the built environment, has earned RIBA National Awards and multiple regional and sustainability awards. He leads Make’s education research, focusing on how design can support well-being, new types of learning, the integration of technology, and how future development can address the climate emergency, moving towards net-zero carbon. Additionally, he actively contributes to the University Design Forum research group, which promotes positive design outcomes for building users and explores the success of completed built environment projects in use. David also teaches architecture at Central Saint Martins.
