Claire is a Smart Places Associate Director with experience in innovation, building technology strategy and programme management. She designs and delivers strategies for building operators to embrace the transformational potential of emerging technologies. After 20 years in Financial Services Claire took a career break to study for an MSc in Cities at the London School of Economics before joining WSP.  Claire is the Inclusion and Diversity lead for WSP UK’s Property & Buildings division and a SmartScore accredited professional.

Claire is interested in human behaviour and helping places evolve and embrace new technologies. Her extensive experience in human-centred design and stakeholder engagement help design teams deliver sustainable assets that respond to user demand. Building Technology is only useful if it is aligned with the operational philosophy of a place. The Smart Places team guide clients exploring the technologies in the market, using a human centered design process to narrow down which technologies will deliver maximum value for their buildings, places and operators. Claire then guide clients through the practical steps to integrate these new technologies to make great places.
