Aoife Healy
Hailing from Ireland, I graduated from Technical University Dublin in 2017 with a degree in International Business and German. After travelling and working as a professional dance teacher, my career took an unexpected turn as I moved to London and joined JJ Rhatigan, entering the world of construction. Initially stepping into an administration role, I was soon promoted to Community Liaison Officer. I am passionate about promoting the construction industry in a positive light and ensuring that it isn't just about buildings and structures—it's about the people and the communities that are impacted. I’m a huge advocate for gender diversity within the industry, last year winning a Considerate Constructor’s Scheme Awards for my initiative promoting male-dominated sectors to schoolgirls.
Statement:
The importance of women in construction goes far beyond individual roles; it's about fostering a culture of equality, diversity, and inclusion that drives progress and innovation. By proving our competence and capabilities in a traditionally male-dominated sector, we pave the way for a more balanced and diverse workforce. As women continue to break barriers, challenge norms, and contribute our unique perspectives, the construction industry stands to gain a more vibrant, equitable, and prosperous future. An inclusive construction industry is a stronger one, and that is something we should all stand behind.
