Alex Whitcroft
Alex is an award winning architect and sustainability expert.
He is a co-founder of KIN – a sustainable architects, developers, development managers, and community enablers. KIN offer landowners, affordable housing providers, and community-led housing organisations partnership working and turnkey solutions for delivering sustainable, net zero, Energiesprong, and Passivhaus homes.
He is passionate about creating environmentally and socially sustainable communities and homes – with his work spanning Passivhaus and net zero buildings, MMC construction innovation, community-led development, cradle-to-cradle design, digital platform design, and sustainability communications.
He is regularly involved in sustainability advocacy. He is a member of LETI (a key contributor to the Climate Emergency Retrofit Guide), on the core team of the Climate Framework, and a member of the National Retrofit Hub Working Groups.
Alex has a wealth of experience in senior and leadership roles working on a range of innovative and award-winning projects, including the UK’s first certified Passive House Plus building and one of the world’s first Living Building Challenge projects.
