Alex is currently Head of Energy & Electrification within Places for London; Transport for London’s property company. TfL is the world’s most integrated transport authority and the capital’s largest and most significant energy user.
This role is focused on delivering sustainable businesses, relating to transport electrification (including the recently announced London-wide EV charging hubs joint venture); renewables; energy efficiency; storage; waste heat; low carbon infrastructure; sustainable property solutions; and decentralised energy networks.
Prior to that, he spent seven successful years at Amber Infrastructure, managing their successfully deployed government-backed funds, which includes the GLA’s Mayor’s Energy Efficiency Fund (MEEF) and the Scottish Partnership for Regeneration in Urban Centres (SPRUCE).
He has acted as an independent 'Green Infrastructure' investor and advisor, focusing on: the 'energy transformation'; electric-mobility clean-tech investment; and the financing of smart, low carbon, sustainable cities.
Alex has worked in sustainable investment throughout his career – responsible for sourcing, financing and delivering high social & environmental-impact opportunities – and is working with developers, financiers and governments to support their future infrastructure.
