Prof. Agnieszka Zimnicka MRTPI

Agnieszka Zimnicka is a placemaking practitioner and academic with background in architecture, town planning and urban management. She has been involved in shaping London's space for over 15 years. She co-created policies regarding urban planning in local plans and developed supplementary planning documents, also implemented them by negotiating urban and architectural design solutions in development management processes. She managed the implementation of regeneration programs and projects in London Borough of Tower Hamlets. As the Head of Planning Policy in Westminster City Council she leads on preparation of the City Plan Partial Review which champions reductions in built environment’s embodied carbon levels. In parallel, Agnieszka continues her academic career as a professor at the Gdańsk University of Technology. Her main research areas are: regeneration of urban areas, quality of spatial development, management of metropolitan areas.
